Utility Clubs / Hybrid Clubs
Improve your golf game
Utility Clubs [or Hybrid clubs as they are also
called] are very useful for the beginning or recreational
golfer.
Utility clubs are a combination of irons and
fairway woods that boast technical features that are designed to
help you get the ball into the air much easier than normal
clubs.
Instead of using a 2,3, 4 or 5 iron [the long
irons] you are better off using a hybrid club instead. The utility
irons are generally shorter than your fairway woods, making them
much easier for the average player to control. And they usually
have flat club head faces rather than curved or round, again making
the shot easier to strike well for the everyday duffer.
The hybrid club also have a longer shaft than the
long iron you might normally use for a particular shot. This
helps to add needed distance to your shots where you would usually
use an iron and you get more loft along with it, which adds to
a softer landing, giving you much better control on the links
when you need it.
The advantages of using utility or hybrid clubs
just keep adding up, don't they?
In addition, the hybrid clubs can also have rails
or channels designed into the bottom of the club head that makes
them interact with the turf in a positive way that also keeps your
shot truer and more accurate results than you would
normally get with the standard clubs.
These utility clubs also have higher lofts on them
as well which also adds to the ease of getting your shot into the
air. There is nothing more frustrating than needing to get the
ball up over a hill or bunker and knowing you probably will blow
the shot. With a utility club with the higher loft, you gain much
more confidence in your shot making ability and you can relax and
enjoy the game more.
There are other advantages in the features designed
into utility clubs but we think you get the message. Hybrid clubs
can do a lot for the game of the everyday golfer and make a day on
the links much more enjoyable.
And keep this in mind. When pros like Ernie
Els, David Toms and others are also using these clubs to improve
their game, you only fool yourself if you think a real golfer only
uses the standard tried and true equipment. Be a pro and use every
tool to your advantage. That includes utility clubs.
