Custom Fit Golf Clubs
Build a golf club that suits your body and
swing

Like every other golfer, your body, your
measurements, your arm length, hand size, leg length and muscle
strength are uniquely your own. Golf clubs are built to certain
standards that will fit the vast majority of people. For the
everyday golfer, standard clubs will work very well. Common
manufacturing standards say a #3 golf iron will be 39
inches long and each subsequent club in a set will
half an inch shorter. But while the length itself may be set
the shaft flex [L, A, R, S or XS] for the set might
all be the same but different shaft manufacturers can have
different specifications for each letter. You can't really look at
a set of clubs with an L shaft flex from one manufacturer
and be positive it will be the same from another.
So, if you want to be sure your clubs are right
every time for you then you need to take the next step and get
yourself into a custom fitting.
And here is the neat part. Not only will a custom
fitting give you golf clubs that are measured and fitted to
both your stature, they will also fit your club swing
characteristics!
Note: some manufacturers offer a "custom
fitting" service but this is NOT a "custom build".
This custom fitting they do is usually just a
method of making what you have already purchased from them in a
standard club more suitable for you. All they really
do is to bend the head of the club to obtain the correct lie
angle for your game. But bending the head will not do a
thing to ensure correct shaft length correct and improve
your posture. And they can't do anything about the already
pre-existing shaft flex. This shaft flex has been described as the
"engine" of every golf club and it needs to be set for your game
and your swing characteristics. Each of the golf club components
[head, shaft and grip] has to be assembled from scratch with
you and your measurements in mind!

There are several areas you need to consider when
you are having golf clubs made just for your game. Note that these
factors will also apply if you are replacing pieces of your
existing set. Many golfers learn how to rebuild their own
clubs.
Golf club grip
The grip is the only point of contact you will have
with your golf club. A grip that is comfortable as well as
functional will benefit your game tremendously.
Golf club shaft
The golf shaft has been described as the "engine"
of your golf club. It can enhance your game if you choose the
proper length but also the proper material.
Golf club shaft flex
Choosing the correct golf club shaft flex is
an important part of enhancing your game based on your personal
game itself.
Golf club head
The club head is the component that connects
with the ball and transmits the energy you built up to the ball.
There are a number of factors to consider when choosing a good golf
club head.
Golf club lie
Choosing the proper lie on your golf clubs will add
to your ability to hit your shots properly each and every time.
